Our Vision

Little Farm...Big Dreams

The vision of Feather Fortress is to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive space to promote wellness for all people through farm-based therapy and to destigmatize mental health support by advancing the recognition of farm-based therapy as a form of mental health treatment.

We may be a small operation now, limited to a single suburban residence, but one day in the not-too-far future we hope to expand to be a...

Network of small backyard farms that focus on mental and physical wellness

AND / OR

Single farm of substantial acreage and a wide array of plants and animals in a suburban or urban location near Atlanta, Georgia that serves as a central hub for all things care farm related.

Our Team

Yes, for now I am the only human on "The Team" :)

I started out my career as a physician and later as a public health practitioner. But as the years progressed, I discovered something that had been with me all along- an appreciation for the intersection of mental wellness and nature. It's funny how childhood encounters can shape the foundation of a person's life. It may have taken me a while to realize it, but my most cherished memories were from growing up on a farm in my earliest years. Throughout my life, I've harnessed those childhood impressions from my roots and came to appreciate that those experiences needed to be shared.

My journey has led me to combine my knowledge of medical science, my passion for population health and mental wellness, and my profound connection to nature and agriculture to find holistic approaches to mental and physical healing that integrate evidence-based methodologies. I hope you'll join us on this journey of furthering our understanding of and experiencing the therapeutic mental health benefits of care farming.
